Adult & Family Programs
ZUMBA
The Zumba program is a fitness-party that fuses hypnotic Latin/International rhythms and easy-to-follow moves to create a one-of-a-kind fitness program that will blow you away. Our goal is simple: We want you to want to work out, to love working out and to get hooked. Zumba fanatics achieve long-term benefits while experiencing an absolute blast in one exciting hour of calorie-burning, body-energizing, awe-inspiring movements meant to engage and captivate for life. You do not have to be a dancer to do this workout. Zumba is for everybody! Zumba is offered year-round on a weekday evening.
ZUMBA Toning
When it comes to body sculpting, Zumba Toning raises the bar (or rather, the toning stick). It combines targeted body-sculpting exercises and high-energy cardio work with Latin-infused Zumba moves to create a calorie-torching, strength-training dance fitness-party. Students learn how to use lightweight, maraca-like Toning Sticks to enhance rhythm and tone all their target zones, including arms, abs, glutes and thighs. Zumba Toning is the perfect way for enthusiasts to sculpt their bodies naturally while having a total blast. Students must purchase Toning sticks prior to beginning for use during class and can be purchased through DCH or at Zumba.com . Zumba Toning is offered year-round on a weekday evening.
Art Classes
DCH offers a wide variety of art classes in collaboration with the Dedham Square Artist Guild (DSAG). Classes are held in DCH’s ground floor space (enter at the back of the building) and taught by DSAG artists. Founded in October 2011, DSAG is Dedham's first artist cooperative, owned and operated by its members. It provides members of the cooperative a home for their work and opportunity to connect with the community, while striving to enrich the cultural life of all residents, through classes, workshops, art openings and more. The collection of work at the Guild encompasses a diverse style of art, including painting, photography, pottery, jewelry, mono-type, textile and much more. You will see this diversity of style represented in the classes offered by the Guild at DCH. Visit our Current Offerings page for upcoming classes, and check back often for additional offerings.
